Northern College Calling for Changes

Timmins’ Northern College is calling on Parliament to enact reforms to Ontario’s post secondary education system. Last weeks throne speech, delivered by outgoing Lieutenant Governor David Onley, touched on many educational issues, including the 30% tuition grant, and Youth Job Strategy. However, the college is advocating for another matter to be looked at; colleges allowing students to earn a three year degree in a career specific study. As it stands right now, students can get only get a diploma or an advanced diploma at college. Northern College is hoping Ontario’s new Minister of Training, Colleges, and Universities, Reza Moridi, will be able to help make this change.
