PC Energy Critic Fights the Province on High Energy Prices

The rising energy cost battle has once again flared up within the provincial government.

Ontario PC Energy Critic Todd Smith says the current hydro rates are disastrous, especially in the northern region.

Smith says that in Timmins for example, the municipal electricity budget has gone up $1.6 million from $3.7 million to $5.3 million.

He says the Wynne Liberals need to do something to fix the problem. Smith says he is asking the province to back away from selling off more Hydro One sales and to stop putting up renewable energy contracts with enormous subsidies attached.

Calls to the Premiers Office for comments have not yet been answered.
