The City of Timmins and area women’s shelters have officially proclaimed March 8th International Women’s Day.
Community Outreach Worker with Tranquility House Women’s Shelter Jenna Smith says this year’s theme is Be Bold for Change.
Smith says volunteers will also be out handing out chocolate roses to women around town. She says this symbolizes ending violence against women and standing up for equality.
