Free fishing weekend is coming with some free tips.
The Timmins Police Service is reminding you of some ice fishing safety tips. Communications Coordinator Marc Depatie says you need to ensure the ice is at least four inches thick before venturing out. Depatie says you should also wear bright coloured clothing so snowmobilers and other people fishing can see you.
Depatie says they are expecting to see more people on the lakes fishing this weekend. He adds that police want you to have a great time, but that starts with staying safe.
