Council Denies Electoral Reform

Timmins City Council will not be changing the voting process for the 2018 municipal election. Council believes the ranked ballot system is too complicated to explain to voters. Councillor Mike Doody says a confusing system could deter people from coming out to vote. Council is instructing the city clerk to monitor ranked ballot elections across Ontario and report back for future consideration.
