News Health Unit Releases Advisory on Reducing Infections SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Monday, Feb. 13th, 2017 The Sudbury District Health Unit is putting out a general advisory so northerners can help reduce infections in long-term care homes. The health unit says the flu and norovirus are common this time of year and can easily spread to nursing homes. As a visitor you can help protect loved ones in these homes by washing your hands, getting a flu shot and staying away if you‘re not well yourself. The health unit says sometimes an outbreak shows up at a nursing home and that‘s when you need to limit your visits and also not interact with other clients in the facility.
