Timmins City Council will resume their payments to DSSAB.
Council is providing funding in good faith while DSSAB looks at changing their funding model. City CAO Dave Landers says council is hoping to have communities receive the amount of service for the price they pay. Landers says this isn’t an issue on the level of services provided, but on how the costs are shared. He adds that council’s decision to resume payments shows they are willing to work work towards a solution.
Landers says if a new funding model is not in place by May 1st, city council will be going to the province for mediation.
