Grade 8 students urged to volunteer over summer

As Grade 8 students get ready for summer vacation, some northern school boards have a suggestion.  The boards say Grade 8 students should consider volunteering over the summer to get a head start on their 40 hours of community service.  Students need 40 hours of community service during their high school career in order to graduate.  The Rainbow board, which covers Sudbury and area, says students should try to get 10 hours of community service in before starting Grade 9.
