News Local Family Warns of Phone Scam SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Tuesday, Jan. 17th, 2017 A Timmins resident is warning others of a recent phone scam her parents received. Jody Valliancourt says her parents received a call from a man stating he was a lawyer for their son. The man even knew the son’s name. Valliancourt says he was looking for $1,000 for bail because her brother was in jail after an accident.She says her parents called the police and they confirmed the call was a scam. Valliancourt says this man is not a real lawyer and if you get a call like this, you should report it to police immediately.
