A letter scam claiming you have inherited money is making its way around Northern Ontario. It claims that a wealthy foreign relative, who has the same last name as you, has left you all their money. Police are warning you to not respond to the letter. Officers say the relative doesn’t exist which means you won’t get any money. Police say scammers are looking for your information to steal your identity or money. If you get one of these letters, contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre online.
