Lionel Gauthier Public Elementary School in Timmins will be ready for occupancy this September. The school, being built on St. Jean Avenue, is nearly complete and the addition includes two new classrooms. Lionel Gauthier will accommodate 305 kindergarten to Grade 6 students. In addition, there are pre and after school programs at the new facility for children aged 15 months to 12 years. The French public school board says this project helps preserve French language education in Timmins.
