The Timmins Police Service is reminding residents to lock their vehicles after a rash of vehicle break-ins on Christmas eve and Christmas day in the downtown area. Police are currently investigating four incidents of mischief that all occurred around Fifth Avenue and Tamarack Street. According to a facebook post, all the vehicle owners were allegedly at Christmas mass at the time of the incident. Interim Communications Coordinator with TPS Marc Depatie says residents need to remember the importance of the Lock it or Loose it guidelines. Depatie says you shouldn’t keep any personal or valuable items visible in your car to avoid theft.
