Timmins Fire Department Looking a Budget Increase

The Timmins Fire Department is looking to increase next year’s operating budget by about $200,000 dollars. The department is also looking to up it’s capital investments by seven per cent, an overall $25,000 dollars. Chief Mike Pintar says this would cover wage and benefit increases, a planned purchase of a new fire truck and increases in regular operating costs. The budget proposal is now in the hands of city council, where it will either be approved or sent back for revision.
