It’s high praise for Goldcorp. The mining company has won two Awards of Excellence in Corporate Reporting. Goldcorp won in mining and sustainability reporting which takes in factors like environmental, social and economic performance. One of the judges, Susan Todd, says Goldcorp consistently shows leadership in keeping the public informed no matter what the issue. Todd says Goldcorp doesn’t shy away from tackling difficult topics and adds transparency is an important aspect for the company. The company’s director of corporate communications, Christine Marks says Goldcorp communicates with all stakeholders where it has operations and it does this in an open, meaningful and transparent way. The awards are presented annually by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Goldcorp was also an award winner last year.
