Two law enforcement agencies in Kirkland Lake are joining forces with Junior “A” hockey for a food drive November 28th.   As we get closer to Christmas, today is the Fill a Cruiser for the Holidays Food Drive.  Players from the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, the Kirkland Lake OPP and staff from Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry will be out collecting food.   From 9:00am to noon, the volunteers will be at Foodland and then they head over to Independent Grocer from noon to 3:00pm.  The goal is to collect as much non-perishable food as possible for the Salvation Army Food Bank.   Detachment commander, Staff Sergeant Rick Witty says the goal of today’s drive is to build on last year’s success.  Witty says all non-perishable food items will be appreciated.
