The brass at Northern College could be all smiles on Friday. The post-secondary school is preparing for a large grant from the federal government. The Liberal MP from Nickel Belt, Marc Serre, will deliver the good news first hand. The pending announcement has attracted a string of high profile people. Among them are the president and CEO of Northern, Fred Gibbons, the chair of the college’s board of governors, George Kemp and Mayor Steve Black. The amount of money the college will get should be considerable because the event is billed as a significant funding announcement. How much money the school is in line for will become public after 10:00am Friday.
