Creating one-way lanes in downtown Timmins not forgotten at city hall

The city is looking at making the laneway behind Scotiabank at Pine and Cedar a one-way street. This has been an ongoing issue for council, who once looked at potentially making all laneways one-way. They are now being looked at case-by-case.

City Engineer Luc Duval says this particular situation requires comments from business owners in the area. He says the city will be getting comments in the next two to three weeks, which will then be considered and created into recommendations.

At that point, council will hear their options and vote on the best course of action. If passed, the one-way street would be from east to west.
