Thanks to funding provided by the NE LHIN, health care centres across the North will be able to hire and train BSO front line workers.

These workers provide enhanced care for older adults who may have dementia, poor mental health, substance abuse problems or neurological conditions.

Since the launch of North East Behavioural Supports Ontario five years ago, the province has invested close to $4-million into BSO front line workers. The NE LHIN has added an additional $1.5-million bringing the total invested to over $5-million since 2011.

Through these investments the LHIN has been able to hire 70 BSO workers across the region and provide training to over 7,000 people working in the industry.
