Black not worried about council issues stopping projects from moving ahead

Timmins city council has been under the spotlight recently, but the constant debates are not stopping the city from moving issues forward. That’s according to Mayor Steve Black, who says several policies and projects are still moving forward, even with the distraction at the council table.

Black says that includes things like getting the RFP for the geotechnical work for the proposed aquatic centre started, developing the industrial rail park, and bringing in international investment.

He says the big projects he spends the majority of his time on as mayor are still moving forward. But, he admits Monday nights are becoming a distraction with the side issues going on. Black says he hopes the city can get back to regular meeting, and regular conduct, in the near future.
