Two OPP officers from the area are being charged with assault. A six-year veteran of the Kapuskasing OPP is looking at assault with a weapon charges. Meanwhile, a South Porcupine officer is facing assault charges.

No details on the situation surrounding the charges are being released, except to say it’s in connection to an assault on two individuals in May. Both officers are suspended with pay. They both have a court date in Kapuskasing at the end of October
