GM Canada made a country wide announcement last week regarding investments across the country, with one-such in Kapuskasing. General Motors will be investing $10 million in its cold weather testing facility located on Highway 11 just west of town.
Aside from the 1,000 new engineering positions the projects across Canada bring, the facility has three full-time employees and over 40 part-time positions. Kapuskasing’s Mayor Alan Spacek says not only is it an important investment in Kap, but it means this community will be a part of developing new technology for General Motors.
