Mayor Steve Black weighs in on the Wynne cabinet shuffle

Timmins Mayor Steve Black says this week’s Cabinet shuffle may be good news for northern Ontario. He says it’s good all three ministers who held positions do still, even if they are for different portfolios. For example, Bill Mauro has moved from the natural resource portfolio to municipal affairs.

Black also points out the new northern addition to the cabinet, in Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault, who has taken over the energy portfolio from Bob Chiarelli. Black says he is looking forward to working with a Northerner, who understands the challenges in the north. That includes challenges for residents, businesses, and industry when it comes to electricity prices. Black says he is hopeful they can make some ground there, to promote jobs and develop the area.
