Seniors in Timmins are getting a break on their parking costs. City hall has just approved a $10 parking pass for seniors who use the Timmins Library and ONR parking lots.  Mayor Steve Black says this has been about six months in the works, and is part of the city’s new age friendly strategy, which promotes a better quality of life for seniors in Timmins.

Black says he was approached about the parking issue by a member at the H.R. Bielek Senior Centre downtown, on Third Avenue. Black then brought it to council, who just approved the change for any seniors who use the centre and want to park downtown. Members can show their card when they buy a pass, and get one for $10.
