Bubblezuit, live music, and volleyball all a part of this year’s Canada Day festivities

An updated schedule for this year’s Canada Day activities in Timmins has been released. There will be kids activities, live music, and food vendors at the Hollinger Park. There will also be activities at Gillies Lake, like volleyball games, relay races, and a water tug of war. The wake park is also offering free rides to kids in the morning.

Also new this year is the addition of Bubblezuit activities.

The full schedule is below:

Fred Salvador Field (Hollinger Park)

  • 11:00 a.m. Canada Day Walk with “Mr. Canada” Karl Habla. Depart City Hall to Schumacher Flag Park.
  • 11:00 a.m. Event Open at Fred Salvador Field
  • 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m Canada Day Marketplace
  • 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Children’s FREE Activities
  • 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m Food & Beverage
  • 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m Opening Ceremonies and Entertainment Main Stage
  • 12:00 p.m. Opening Ceremonies – MC Mike Doody
  • 1:00 p.m. Jeff Baldock
  • 2:00 p.m. Gabriella Bazzara
  • 3:00 p.m. Sabrina Charlebois & Dave Sauve
  • 4:00 p.m. Dan Yergeau (Skinny)
  • 6:00 p.m. $5 Age of Majority Fee – Licensed Area

Gillies Lake 

  • Mixed Beach Volleyball
  • Relay Races – three legged races, lifejacket races
  • Contests – sand castle building, water safety
  • Games – greased watermelon, pie face, obstacle course, water tug-o-war
  • Boardwalk Rentals Kayaks, Pedal Boats, Sup’s: scavenger hunt, paddleboat races, and something special planned on the water during the fireworks that night

Wake Park 

  • One free ride to children ages 5-14 years between 12:00pm and 4:00opm. Children must be accompanied by an adult, waiver form to be signed before participating.

There will also be a free shuttle service running from 10:45am until 1:00pm. The east end shuttle will start at the Whitney Arena, with stops at the South Porcupine Legion and McIntyre Arena. The west end shuttle will start at at Timmins Square with stops at the Mountjoy Arena, the Archie Dillon Sportsplex and the Confederation Multi Sports Complex.
