Angus calls recently released internal FedNor documents “troubling”

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is looking for some answers from the Trudeau Liberals over lack of action at FedNor. He says the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern and Rural Ontario had $26 million cut from their budget under the Harper Conservatives, and that money has not been restored. On top of that, internal documents are showing employee satisfaction has fallen almost 50 per cent. Over 80 per cent of employees said it was a great place to work in 2008, but only 30 per cent had the same rating in 2014.

Angus calls that report troubling, saying the work of staff is constrained by budget limitations, recent cuts, and a lack of effective decision making. Angus says FedNor plays an important role in northern Ontario, and the feds seem to be indifferent about it.
