Porcupine Health Unit stresses the importance of safety with a car seat blitz

The Porcupine Health Unit is stressing the importance of safety for kids with their Car Seat Safety Clinics. They’ve been running the blitz across the north this spring, which included a stop in Timmins. Unit Coordinator, Nicole Ethier, says it was important to run the blitz before the long weekend as many people will be out travelling.

Ethier says of the 21 cars they examined in Timmins last week, every single one had at least one installation error. She says the issues are so common because there are so many different makes and  models of cars and car seats. Parents and caregivers can still get their car seats checked by booking an appointment with the health unit at no cost.
