NEONet helping to modernize local businesses

NEOnet has been paying visits to northern communities in order to help businesses and entrepreneurs better market through social media.The North Eastern Ontario Communications Network is a non-profit organization supported by FedNor and other government programs, designed to help local businesses modernize themselves in the region.

NEOnet’s catchment area runs from Temagami to James Bay.

Special Events and Communication Coordinator for the town of Kapuskasing, Kelly Kraby says NEOnet’s visit to Kapuskasing was an informative one. Kraby says helping northern businesses and entrepreneurs stay competitive in the digital era’s end result means more jobs. She says communications and social media management positions are integral ones within many businesses and organizations.

The event held at the civic centre had a packed house, including members from the EDC and the town’s corporation.
