The United Steelworkers is looking for some more action over the death at a mine near Cochrane. The union says police departments need to look beyond companies when laying charges for a death in the workplace. This comes as Detour Gold was charged last week, for criminal negligence causing death.
Those charges are in connection to the death of 52-year-old Matheson man Denis Millettee. He died in August at the mine, while repairing equipment. The cause of death is being linked to cyanide. Now the union is saying executives and directors should also face charges.
