Pre-registration is now open for a workshop on McIntyre Powder. The project is reaching out to families who have been affected by the almost 30-year practice, which had miners inhale the aluminium dust before going underground. Miners were inhaling the dust from the mid-1940’s to the 70’s.
The Occupational Health Clinic for Ontario Workers will have medical staff to coordinate the health information and services offered at the clinics. The clinic in Timmins is on May 11th and 12th. The goal is to see if there is a link between inhaling the dust and neurological diseases. The clinic is looking for families who have been affected by the aluminium dust inhalation program to speak at the workshop.
To sign up for the workshop, call Janice Martell at 1-800-461-7120.
