Wildlife are most active this time of year, prompting a safety warning for drivers

The MNRF is reminding northern drivers that this is the time of year wildlife are most active, especially at dusk and dawn. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says moose, elk, and deer are likely to be out looking for food, and may end up on the road.

If you see animals on the road, honk your horn in short bursts and blink your headlights. Chances are you will see wildlife where signs are posted, in wooded corridors, and where roads cross creeks or rivers.
