The Nothern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is investing nearly $2.5 million into the Hallnor Rail Park in Timmins. The money is going to help install sewer, water, hydro, natural gas, and a rail spur line at the industrial site. This comes as Calabrian Corporation is opening a liquid sulphur dioxide plant in the city. The company says having access to a rail spur line is a big reason why they chose Timmins. The announcement was made in the city yesterday as the Minister of Northern Development, Michael Gravelle, was in town.
