Angus says Kashechewan health crisis needs immediate attention, as 16 kids are evacuated

Sixteen of the most serious children’s health cases are being evacuated from the Kashechewan First Nation. Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus has set up a follow-up meeting to look at issues of infrastructure including black mould, and whether the sewage lagoon is leaking into the First Nation’s water system.   Angus says the health crisis needs immediate attention, and says medical teams will be going into the First Nation today to examine all the children.

The site the children are being transported to is not yet known.
