The Save VIA campaign aims to restore passenger-rail services to the north. Northern municipalities are taking a closer look whether or not to support the initiative.
Kapuskasing town council gave its recommendation last night to not support the campaign after it called for a five cents-a-litre gas hike to off-set its costs. The town’s CAO Yves Labelle says it’s mostly to keep rail in the North Bay area but it’s a start for the north in restoring its lost rail services from 2012.
