In fact, 86 per cent of Ontarians think the government should spend more on highway maintenance.
Vanthof says the privatized road clearing contracts are endangering lives. He says says the once minimum standard of clearing is now considered the ‘optimum level.’
The ministry issues fines for failing to meet road clearing standards but Vanthof is calling on the government to find out how much those fines are.
