Registration is open for the 6th annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival.
This year Tourism Manager Guy Lamarche says it’ll be the best and biggest event yet because they’ll be adding another 10 food vendors. The planning committee will be accepting food vendor proposals until May 6th.
Also knew this year is stand up paddle board yoga. Lamarche says it’s all about building healthier communities and giving people one last big thing to remember before heading into Winter.
Unlike previous years, this year the festival will be in full swing all day Friday with a number of water clinics and children’s programming.
As for the nightly entertainment Lamarche says Friday night will be a blue grass music theme with the Algoma Wild Flowers performing. The main event for Friday has yet to be confirmed.
Saturday night will be a rock concert featuring Canadian Icon the Stampeder’s.
