The North East LHIN is kicking in some money for joint replacement surgeries at the Timmins Hospital. They are going to be funding 71 knee and hip surgeries, which have to be done by April 1st.  The Local Health Integration Network has provided almost $4 million over the past four years to perform the joint replacement surgeries.
CEO Louise Paquette says the hospital has made great strides to reduce surgical wait times, getting that much closer to meeting provincial wait time targets. She says they will also continue to fund the joint assessment centres in Timmins, which will helps get patients to surgeons quicker.
