The Timmins Police is kicking off their annual Lock It or Lose It campaign. The goal is to stop cars from being broken into, especially as holiday shopping ramps up. Police will be going around to check if cars are locked, valuables are out of sight, and are parked in a well-lit area, especially at night. Officers will leave a notice on the car that says it has been checked out with some safety tips. Chief John Gauthier says doing something as simple as securing your car and its contents makes it more difficult for thieves.
