Toxicology results spark investigation into mining death

A death at the Detour Gold Mine has sparked an investigation. Not many details are being released, but OPP Sergeant Carolle Dionne says something in the toxicology results is making the OPP look twice. She says 52-year-old Denis Millette died in early June.

He was fixing equipment in the mine, when he was found in medical distress. On-site medical staff tried to help him, but he later died. The post-mortem results recently came back, which is why police are just now starting their investigation.

Dionne says anyone who may have information about the death at the Cochrane mine can contact their local OPP or Crime Stoppers. She says that information is crucial to moving the investigation forward. Call your local police, or 1-800-222-8477 for Crime Stoppers.
