Four year cold case has been solved

New information has solved a four year old cold case. Bernard Sackaney went missing from Timmins in 2011. He was seen in town in July of that year, and then again hitch hiking in North Bay in August. That was the last anyone saw of the man who was 48 at the time.

But now, biology students have helped to crack the case. They found a shoe in a marsh, off of Highway 11, back in June. It had human remains in it, and so police were called, and they searched the area further. More remains were found in the marsh. On Friday, the results came back that connected the remains to Sackaney.

Timmins Police have notified his family, and foul play isn’t suspected.
