Forest fires in the northeast aren`t much of a problem for firefighting crews from the Ministry of Natural Resources. The largest fire is seven hectares large and is being held in Cochrane. In the far north, crews are watching three small fires, and one new fire under a hectare in size in Kirkland Lake is under control. The fire hazard ranges from low to high.
