2015 budget passed by council

Timmins city council has passed the 2015 budget.

Residential taxpayers are looking at an increase of 1.88%.

Although council was trying to get that number to zero, money was added to snow removal and there was an increase to the police budget.

Mayor Steve Black says he is pleased with the unanimous vote, but is still looking for ways to cut back.

Black says council will come back to discuss the final ratio of tax increases, but the overall budget has been approved.
