Students from Timmins High and Vocational School have built and donated picnic tables for Stars and Thunder.

This is part of an ongoing ICE Challenge going through District School Board Ontario North East to spur innovation and creativity in students. Shop Teacher Barry Trebilcock says the City of Timmins challenged the students to build picnic tables that can be used in the VIP area of Stars and Thunder.

Trebilcock says these picnic tables have some special features to them.

Mayor Steve Black says the tables will be placed in parks around the city once the festival is over for everyone to use.
