Kathleen Wynne Talks OHIP+ Youth Pharmacare Program

Ontario is investing about $465-million to expand the province’s OHIP+ Children and Youth Pharmacare Program.

Starting January 2018, the program will provide free prescription medication for everyone with O-HIP coverage under 24-years-old. Premier Kathleen Wynne told Timmins residents that this coverage will be automatic with no upfront costs.

Wynne says this will cover about 4,400 prescription drugs including asthma inhalers, antibiotics and anxiety medication. She adds as new medication comes out of the testing stage, they will be added to the list of prescriptions that are covered.
