Commando Lake in Cochrane is getting a needed financial boost for its makeover.
Yesterday, FedNor announced a $792,500 investment supporting infrastructure and business growth to the Town of Cochrane.
Cochrane Mayor Peter Politis says $500,000 of the investment will go to constructing a permanent festival and events pavilion on Commando Lake. Politis says the other $192,500 will help the town to begin regional marketing to attract Quebec tourists.
He says he’s pleased the government is helping their efforts to improve the community.
Politis says that FedNor’s investment will help to send the message going forward that Cochrane is open for business.
