President of FONOM elected to the AMO Board of Directors

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario has a new member to its northern caucus. Al Spacek was appointed to the Board of Directors during its annual conference last week. Spacek is the Mayor of Kapuskasing, and President of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities. He will help to set policies and serve as a key municipal leader in the province. Timmins city councillor Mike Doody is also on the northern caucus board.

AMO is a non-profit organization that represents almost all of Ontario’s 444 municipal governments. It looks at things like boosting local economies, and advancing federal and provincial infrastructure.
