The MPP for Nipissing isn’t surprised that the Wynne Liberals won’t include a separate line on heating bills explaining what the cap and trade tax will cost us. Vic Fedeli says it’s because the Liberals want to hide the truth. And the Tory finance critic says that’s par for the course. Fedeli says Premier Kathleen Wynne works in a culture of fear and secrecy.
Fedeli says the Liberals claim the monthly increase will be about $4 to $5 a month. But he says the gas associations maintain the cap and trade will increase heating bills by hundreds of dollars each year. Fedeli says if the Progressive Conservatives form the next government, they will return the cap and trade to people, making the tax revenue neutral.
